RAW PET MILK NOW AVAILABLE AT P. A. BOWEN FARMSTEAD!

Our cats LOVE it!!

Yes, you heard that right. We now have a permit to sell unpasteurized milk for your dogs and cats. This will be the first raw cow’s milk to be legally sold in the state of Maryland for many decades.

Rest assured, we follow the same strict sanitary procedures for our raw milk as we do for our raw cheese. Every batch is tested for coliform levels (which are always very low for our milk). This full-fat, corn/soy/GMO-free milk from our grass-fed cows is available in quart and half-gallon size containers: $6 for a half gallon, $3.50 for a quart. Since this is pet milk, we must charge sales tax.

The milk is available at our farm store on a first-come, first-serve basis, starting Thursday morning, October 15th. Our hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p,m. Thursday through Saturday. One gallon limit per family.

Don’t forget our other wonderful products while you are here–award-winning artisan cheese, woodlands pork, pastured eggs and chicken (including livers, hearts, gizzards, heads and feet), pastured beef, and many other items that appeal to the health-conscious consumer.

See you soon!

Our Blue Wins 3rd Place!

We just received word that our 2014 Prince George’s Blue Cheese won THIRD PLACE in the American Cheese Society annual competition!

We are especially thrilled, because there is a lot of competition in the rinded blue vein cheese category. Our creamy signature natural-rinded blue cheese is rich in character without the bite that is typical of most blue cheeses. We use Penicilium roqueforti mold culture, animal rennet and Celtic sea salt. Each batch is aged for over 60 days.

If you haven’t tried our award-winning Prince George’s Blue, now is the perfect time!
